Children are of great concern to every family, school or organisation, especially if they are struggling in any area of their lives. Parents or professionals see that the child is not as they ‘should be’. They may be misbehaving, under achieving or struggling with the anxiety attached to over achievement and perfectionism. Parents and professionals can struggle to know what to do and how to deal with the child.
Conducting onsite assessments with regards to individual children in the area of emotional or behavioural issues arising in the classroom, home or within social environments or activities is something that gets to the heart of the problem. The assessment involves observing the child in the challenging environment, talking to parents and professionals and detailing practical strategies on how to work with the child to help alleviate the presenting issues. The assessment is followed up with ongoing support to implement the new strategies. It can also include individual work with the child or family.
